"Problem Group of Members and Staff"...Uh, Oh

From ABC News

"The Republican source said Trandahl planned to name Ted Van Der Meid, the speaker's counsel and floor manager, as the person who was briefed on a regular basis about any issue that arose in the page program, including a "problem group of members and staff who spent too much time socializing with pages outside of official duties." One of whom was Mark Foley."

Please notice the two words "problem group". That says quite a lot, don't you think? So, according to this account, it's not just Foley, there are others and it was known to be a problem. There are not just others but other members(that means other congressmen) and some of the congressmen's staff too. And what was the "problem" with the problem group? "...too much socializing with pages..." Socializing with pages, too much socializing with pages and too much socializing with pages where? "...outside of official duty..." The protectors of the children from internet predators must have passed their legislation recently so they could have the pages to prey on all for themselves. Wouldn't want any outside competition in the predator department. Christ.

According to Trandahl, Denny Hastert's counsel and floor manager was briefed on all of this. Denny Hastert's counsel and floor manager(WTF, floor manager, what does Denny do, sell cars on the side? I can't stand this shit) knew all about the "problem group", the "too much socializing with pages", and the "outside of official duty" parts. He knew that Congressmen and staff, grown men, some over 50, were socializing with 16 and 17 year old high schoolers after official business hours and nothing was done?

Now we segway to the "nothing was done" part. That is the tombstone inscription for this neo-con GOP..."we took power and Nothing was Done". When we were warned about Osama...nothing was done. When the levees did not hold....nothing was done. When contrary intelligence about Iraq was convincingly presented before the invasion...nothing was done. And so The Foley meltdown is really nothing new or surprising. When pages were being preyed upon and Republican leaders knew about the "problem group"...nothing was done.
