More Marching Freedom, Israeli Style
Here's Israel keeping up with our Marines. When it comes to what a leading blogger calls "toddlercide" you just knew Israel wasn't going to let the U.S. military have all the fun.
GAZA (Reuters) - "Islamic militant group Hamas called off a 16-month-old truce with Israel after attacks blamed on Israeli forces killed 10 Palestinians, including children playing on a beach.
Palestinian officials said Israeli air strikes and artillery fire killed 10 Palestinians in Gaza, the highest Palestinian toll in a single day since 2004. Seven people, including five from the same family, were killed in what Palestinian officials said was Israeli shellfire from boats on to a crowded beach.
Among the dead were three children, aged 1, 3 and 10. Their sister, who had been swimming, survived. Twenty people were wounded. Covered in blood, children screamed as adults carried the wounded and dead from the sand."
And of course the Israeli's never hid their policy about how they would "protect" their nation from terrorists. This from one of Sharon's advisers in 2004:
"First of all, the fence is not built like the Berlin Wall. It's a fence that we will be guarding on either side. Instead of entering Gaza, the way we did last week, we will tell the Palestinians that if a single missile is fired over the fence, we will fire 10 in response. And women and children will be killed, and houses will be destroyed. After the fifth such incident, Palestinian mothers won't allow their husbands to shoot Kassams, because they will know what's waiting for them.
Second of all, when 2.5 million people live in a closed-off Gaza, it's going to be a human catastrophe. Those people will become even bigger animals than they are today, with the aid of an insane fundamentalist Islam. The pressure at the border will be awful. It's going to be a terrible war. So, if we want to remain alive, we will have to kill and kill and kill. All day, every day."
And here is how the Haditha massacre and others including this massacre of Palestinian future terrorists can be construed by the wingnuts. This is surely a coalition display of solidarity focusing on those Judeo-Christian values I've heard so much about. After all, we're at war and those toddlers who aren't with us must (duh) be against us.
When "toddlercide" is brought up in the MSM I particularly like the reasoning and logic of Hardball moderator Chris Matthews."Suppose a bunch of guys are coming down a road, they get bombed, they lose a bunch of people. They look around, they see a house and they figure, well, at minimum, the people living in this house have been warned where those mines are, because otherwise they’d step on them accidentally. They’re part of the problem."
His justification is that anyone living close to where an IED went off knew about it ahead of time; cause if they didn't know they themselves would trip it and blow themselves up. And as anyone knows toddlers and little children, being the ornery and curious little bastards that they are, would be the first to know where IED's are placed. How do we know this? According to Matthews logic because their would be dead children everywhere if they don't already know where the IED's are. Airtight logic I must say. With logic like this, I suggest, there's no need bothering with the usual gold standard of "collateral damage". Those fucking children are guilty and that is that.
The above mentioned Israeli toddler story must fit into this same Matthews logic form, don't you think? Surely those Palestinian children knew where and when and who amongst the Hamas and others were going to attack Israelis. Thus the justification of the beach missile attack.
Pre-emptive violence against children...the new and improved Judeo-Christian value.
